Just interested who people on here think we should keep next season and who'd they'd let go?

Keep - Belshaw (obviously signed), James, Preston, Vidal, Green, Jackson, Hibbert, Adams, Clarke and I believe Mettam is signed anyway

Not too fussed if the others went, although I'd give Sleath a chance to prove himself along with Purdie as both have been out for the majority of the season.

Not a bad list although I wouldn't be devastated if we lost Jackson or Mettam and I'm right with you on the Danny Sleath call. I thought he was probably our best outfield player (of an admittedly bad bunch) in our first 6 or 7 games before he got injured.

The bad news is time flies. The good news is we are the pilots

+1 but wouldn't worry if we lost James. He put the defence under pressure on many occasions by trying to be too clever.

Agree Red Blooded. James just never seems to learn from his mistakes. He is forever trying to play football in danger positions.I believe there are better left backs around for sure. Also Jackson is much too lightweight. Feel a bit sorry for Trainer as he has always come in and did a fair job,and yet for some reason gets left out the next game regardless. Sleath needs to prove his fitness after a long injury,so would keep him on non contract initially.

Agree mostly with LukeTFC, but am more resigned to Mettam staying than I am happy with it, and I hope beyond hope that Kayden Jackson is not here next season. I have seen better pub players.

I would let Jackson, Taylor and Styche go. I know Styche is on loan but I wouldn't try and sign him.
With the new U21's, we would be able to get the players games who usually dont get one too. Therefore the squad could be that bit bigger and maybe have better cover if we suffer injuries like this season.

TJ could be OK if AM can work his magic on him and coach him properly. Sure there will be some room. I wouldn't keep Taylor of Trainer and not sure where Purdie would fit in but he may have contacts and help on coaching too.  AM's links with Shrewsbury may bring a few decent ones in as long as we can secure them for the season and not just short term loans.
Preston may be good if he gets the all clear just depends how he is mentally after a fracrtured skull. I'd forgot about Sleath (Sorry mate) Mettam now knows what its all about at this level and did score some important goals for us. Should be an interesting summer...

Definitely think TJ will  stay, virtually ever-present under Morrell.  He speaks highly of Taylor too.
As have said before, likes of Clarke live up the top end of the country so may decide move elsewhere.
will be interesting to see if we  go for the likes of Gaz Dean, Theo Streete and  Gav Cowan from the Boro.

Me personally I would keep Belshaw, Vidal, Preston, Adams, Taylor, Clarke, Hibbert & Green for definate, I would consider keeping TJ, Thornton and Jackson but would probably let the rest go with the hope of attracting more quality next season, the main areas to improve for me is a new centre-back and striker and then a creative ball winning midfielder.

Belshaw, Vidal, but will probably be signed by a club further up the divisions than us, Taylor, but stop playing him out of position, Hibbert ,Green, Sleath, Purdie ,Clarke, Adams, Preston, Thornton as a player to come off the bench.
Would like Streete, & Gaz Dean, Cowan is too old IMO.

Sleath (chance to return if fit enough)
maybe Mettam, Vidal, Styche

Look to sign......

lScotty Barrow
Hednesford left back Glenn Walker

Lack of firepower has cost us the playoffs, and Belford his job!

would ask Coop's about Hlyton on loan from Swindon if they go up....
if not Yussuf from Oxford £ if he's not on contract or Andy Brown Nuneaton

Midfield look at :-

Beswick Solihull
Deeney Worcester
return for Kerry Hednesford / Harrogate depends on £

Think AM will get it sorted.... especially up front this season!

Maybe Vidal? He's a must!

But you'd have Scott Barrow back? Should never go back... To much water under the bridge there hopefully!

"Never go back" usually applies to managers and not players IMO

Agreed he is, but I am unsure if he's injured and the current situation with him
We started at Harrogate with 3 or 4 unfit and we can't afford to carry unfit players next season

Sounds like Green wants to stay. The worry, of course, is what the budget will be." rel="nofollow -

The budget as always 500 fans paying £14 every fortnight.

Belshaw, Vidal, Preston, Green, Sleath, Adams, Clarke, Mettam and Hibbert, Green and Trainer to stay.

Not Styche, Jackson, Taylor, TJ.

Wilkins is a good utility player so perhaps keep him for coming off the bench if we need to tighten things up.

Thornton has not contributed anything this season IMO and is a sicknote too.  Undoubtedly he has great talent, but he produced it in very small bursts.  Managers obviously have a good opinion of him but I'm afraid he's just taking up space.

Wilkins and good? Not sure they go in the same sentence regarding football!

Our Frank says my cooking's bad
But i think if we keep young wilkin then were a recipe
For disaster, out of his depth at this level,
As for connor. Tries hard but not quite ripe

Kidderminster have released a midfielder who has scored a few and wants to leave the full time game. Maybe worth a look.
