New thread for the big match... I'll go for a narrow 1-0 success, goal from the spot (Beswick).

Nice section on here about our game as well from the opposition, worth listening to:  https://darlofansradio.simplecast.com/episodes/october-2019" rel="nofollow - https://darlofansradio.simplecast.com/episodes/october-2019

Been reading their fans forum, they seem relatively confident, reasonably enough, without being condescending or arrogant, makes an interesting read.

Hope I am wrong but I can't get 0-1 out of my head.

Similar scenario to Hereford game. Winnable at our very best but we'll need to be because they are a league above.

3-3 and all up to Darlo on Tuesday!

going to be tough, but we can do it for sure

You can think I'm wrong, but that's no reason to quit thinking.

0-3 was probably a bit harsh but beaten by a better side so no real complaints. Bes will be disappointed with the pen but he's been great most of this season prior to today. The scoreline I do think slightly flattered them but the kid wearing 11 for them was clinical and they deserved to go through.

Impressive number of travelling fans too when you take into account the distance. Hope they get Sunderland away and can bank a nice few quid (and have half a squeak of an upset)

Well we tried but it just didn’t happen today. Sad and disappointed but not the end of the world. Darlington were a better team than Hereford and with some strange decisions by the man in black we just didn’t click today. A few missed chances that could have changed the game completely. Has definitely man of the match for me. Still never mind. Onwards and upwards. Keep your chins up lads you’ve nothing to be ashamed about.

Agreed, better side won, but 3-0 flattered them a bit. I think their no 11 is on loan from Middlesboro and definitely looks a few classes above our level. Good luck to Darlington in the next round. Definitely a nod of respect to their fans, travelled in good numbers.

Played well first half and didn’t deserve to be 2 down but mistakes at this level will be punished
Not the end of the world and back to the priority of the league

Yeah Tyrone O'Neill the lad on loan from Boro. Darlo hoping to keep him all season - only surprise is he's 20!

I'd not be serving him a pint if I worked in a pub. Looks about 16!

Was surprised no Fry today - thought he was very good v Hereford, home and away, likewise Cox
No complaints about the result but confident we'll respond positively

To be fair - Management have got it right most of the season but the call today Francis in ahead of Cox spun me a lot. Yes Francis has the pace but Cox the experience and the know how. Today needed Cox against a higher league team. For me over  the past few games Francis has struggled and made a few mistakes. Cox was fully fit today. Can’t see Cox staying with us unless given game time. Francis one for the future but not ready!

Cox looked injured v Biggleswade, don't think he was at 100%. Not sure on Gough though.

Thought the midfield trio did pretty well, difference was clinical finishing and just giving the ball away in key areas. They transitioned play for all three goals very well, something we don't really get in our league.

Probably also fair to say that if Waite had a bit more composure in front of goal, he wouldn't be playing at this level. All the physical attributes to cut it but can't seem to put together a run of goals.

I thought we missed our main full backs badly although the left back was better in the 2nd half. Also missed Fry protecting the middle two at the back and no engine in midfield. The first half was pretty even possession wise but the big difference was the finishing in front of goal, we couldn't get a shot on goal in the first half and they had 4 or 5 shots of which two went in. Penalty miss may have changed the game but who noes. I still believe Waites best position is out wide because he has the ability to get passed his full back and put some quality crosses in for Creaney. Good luck to Darlington best team on the day, we must press on in the league now.

They've only gone and drawn Walsall away - would have been a great day out that!

Unbelievable. That would have been a fantastic day out for me. I know one of the directors there. What a bummer
