Stop making excuses for why we can’t do it? We can. Royston away victory today - it can’t get much tougher. Only one defeat before today. Form table in last 6 were top and look who’s second - a team we could have beaten by 5 goals in FA CUP! 🤔

No one on here have I seen say we can't do it. Some people just think that we don't have to say we are certain about things in September.

I remember only this summer that some people on here, no names mentioned claimed we had no chance of promotion with Tyrell Waite leading the line!
Don't suppose anyone will admit to that?

Have to admit that I may not have been his favourite fan. But have to say that there has been a change in his form how I don’t know. All I can put it down to is Smudge and Andy have found his scoring switch. Interesting to see what happens when he’s around Styche.

Looking forward to Styche (who might not start in fairness) v Magunda. Potential for some fireworks there with neither of them a shrinking violet.

Styche an absolute legend for me. Players at any level who can change a game in an instant on the pitch or off it by goading crowd either way! Still doing it to be fair but hopefully not tomorrow please

Been a bit in and out at Hereford but a good player I don't doubt. If he'd have been a bit less of a loose cannon, he'd have played higher. I'd have Danny Newton any day over Styche mind you.

Oddly saw Reece getting his hair cut in the man cave on the corner in Cannock town just before he signed for Darlington.

Was doing his accountants courses recently - can't imagine he fits the mould at many accounts team meetings!

The Brackley game (2017 I think) summed up Styche. Absolutely great volleyed goal followed up by an absolute fanny fit after a lad fouled him. Styche sent off.

Could excite and infuriate in equal measure.

Loved Styche when he played for us, however, I hope he plays against us. It shouldn't take much working out for our guys to push his buttons and see him trudging off for an early bath after about half an hour. Good player, hampered by his regular brain farts.

It is possible to think we're playing well and getting decent results without crowning us champions with three quarters of the season left Argus.

The wheels had not fallen off the wagon and no one was crying after Biggleswade so a win over Rushden (who are horrifically out of form - 14 conceded in 3 games) doesn't mean we have to get the champagne corks popping.

You seem to have an affinity with villa fans. They'd wasted all the summer money and it was a disaster until they beat Norwich and now they're off on a European tour.

I think I'm prone to less extremes of emotion

I think that's "it's October, the season has hardly begun". We don't have to be devastated or ecstatic all the time!

Yes of course we can go up this year but this league looks like it's wide open this year with two points separating the top 7. I believe we have a better chance than most due to the strength in depth of our squad especially when the injuries and suspensions start to kickin along with playing Saturday - Tuesday which seems to have already started for us. I know it's nice to have cup runs which we are finally enjoying this season and it brings much needed revenue for the club but ultimately how will it affect our league form ?

My point was a lot of us have a setting of "quietly content" rather than disgusted or delighted.

I wasn't disgusted at being mid table in the conference north and while I think we've made a decent start I don't feel the need to proclaim us the new Barcelona in October in this division.

Good win on Tuesday. Top of the form table, away form table, and tie top in League Table. Hednesford have played 2 more matches at home while Lambs have played 2 more away in sequence. Started to turn our home form around at last. Said months ago were going up as Champions so nothing todate has happened to change my mind 🤔

Got to admit surprised Hoenes was chosen as our main striker/target man against Stratford. Has Creaney fallen that down the pecking order? Or maybe ploy to prevent long ball easy option? Former me thinks. Creaney on fire pre-season but for me not given fair crack of the whip but on the other hand not sure in recent performances when allowed on pitch he’s done anything special.

Must admit as a bit of an outsider it is refreshing to be reading the debate on here about how high Tamworth will finish and if they will get promoted as champions or "just" make the playoffs,  Though I am not 100% sure there are playoffs in your league Embarrassed
For the last few seasons all I have read about on here is doom and gloom and pessimism, so enjoy the football Tamworth is playing and how high they are in the league table but remember there are a lot of games to go and how quickly things can change.
Having said that, in the games I have seen down at the Lamb, and the highlights of the other games, the players seem to be comfortable with the ball and not just getting rid of it at the earliest opportunity.
Watched the highlights of the Stratford game before I came on here and some of the moves and football were top class and streets ahead of what I have seen from Tamworth before.
I am no expert and what I have written might be a load of rubbish(which wouldnt be the first time ) but in any case just enjoy the ride however bumpy it gets and there will be twists and turns in the next few months but thats what we all love about football, you never know what is going to happen :)

Not sure on the new striker personally. We have Creaney who was bang on form pre season and probably hasn’t been given as much game time as he deserves. Waite, according to Andy is the best striker in the league, if one of last seasons post match interview is anything to go by. Hoenes scored 27 goals last season but is yet to hit the ground running.
I’m not sure we can improve what we already have, without upsetting the team spirit.
The obvious one who were missing from last season is Lait but haven’t really been keeping tabs on his progress, but have noticed they’re struggling a little bit.
The other one is Jaanai Gordon who can’t stop scoring at Banbury

We have enough decent wide players. Don’t need Lait. Before we get a new striker in we need to give Creaney a chance to prove himself not just in cameos.

Agree! What I can’t get my head around if Frances is deemed better that Cox against Darlington, yet Forde is deemed better than Frances for both Stratford & Leiston.

Really enjoy the football Waite looking terrific, strong and powerful.

The management make decisions. Maybe Cox should have played ahead of Frances in the Darlington game. If he hadn't acted like a petulant 6-year-old, he'd be started right back now and Forde would be in centre midfield

Remember interview in Birmingham mail, where Cox was bigging up the strength of the squad and how it was benefitting the players. Greater competition and all that! Perhaps Cox thought he was guaranteed a starting spot. Losing his place after being sent off, meant he had to scrap for his place, which he clearly was not up to. I am sure Stratford would welcome him back in a heart beat if they aren’t closed down.
Shame he was a decent player, now doomed to carry his poor attitude wherever he goes.
Stratford is a good fit for him

Frances is a liability and has proved that in games this season

Agree sometimes he makes mistakes, also true of many players too numerous to point out.
Cox is decent, but the squad doesn’t need the talent of Mardy arses. You can’t please players who demand to show off their talent in big games! Was he hoping Darlington would snap him up?

Posted By: The dosthill lamb

Spot on Dan. I too thought that Cox should have started the game against Darlington ahead of Frances but the management have to make decisions and sometimes they too will get things wrong. To say Frances is a liability i think is a bit harsh. He's a young lad still learning the game and he is going to make and has made mistakes. The acid test for him will be as to whether he learns from his mistakes. I would expect Cox to be disappointed at being left out but acting like a petulant child is no good for the rest of the squad. Dan Creaney could feel aggrieved at not starting more games but he is responding the way he should when he gets his chance by scoring goals and making it hard to leave him out. Cox would have had his chance to stake a regular place but chose to react he way he did and therefore its best for everyone that he goes. All this aside we should be enjoying the fact that we are playing some good stuff and its a pleasure to watch the team again. We still need to strengthen the squad in my opinion. Good and successful sides build from a position of strength. What should help is the £30,000 or so made from the FA Cup and Trophy thus far, coupled with the £20,000 pledged from Teambuilder this season. Lets hope that we can add to the already undoubted quality that we have at our disposal and make sure that this lovely little football club of ours continues to thrive

Good result from the outside (paternity leave been my excuse for the last 2 Saturdays but hopefully back next week).

Got to keep consistently picking up the points. Of the threats below, I still give Stourbridge a big shout and having done a spot of early season recruitment, Bromsgrove are menacing too. (I'm on both each way from start of season at 10s and 16s respectively).
