Daish joined Nuneaton Town on September 22nd 2014 as first team manager. It is understood that one of the first tasks he will undertake is to appoint former Nuneaton keeper Dale Belford as his new Assistant. Belford was recently manager of Conference rivals Tamworth.

Thats who I reckon it is. You dont take your assistant manager and a folder to a football match if you are just going to watch !!

If Gee is the cheap option, Andrews will always go for that.

Don't know why people are so against gee coming back, one of or if not our beat ever manager and has experience of winning the league, albeit when it was dr martens. Some people just moan for the sake of moaning, whoever the man is should get your support and not negativity before a ball has even been kicked

Thumbs Up

No wonder Managers dont want to come to Tamworth if they are getting hammered before they have even been introduced. Promotion plus the FA Trophy final. Not bad. I'd rather we had someone like Darron Gee than some of the names mentioned last week who have no experience at all. Just because they are ex-pro's dosn't guarentee success. If they are that good, how come they are out of work !!!

And Gee has done what in the last 7 yrs? Left alfreton 2007 as manager to go to assistant at york. Left 2012. Since then what? Should be looking to the future not the past

Move the club forward not back
Breath some new life into the place
Get the paying punters back onside
Show just a little ambition
Gamble, if it doesn't work out then fair enough at least you've tried
Look outside the box, further afield instead of the end of their noses

They are slowly choking and killing this club Angry

That's all I ask.....

Gee was before my time but it seems the general feeling is a no.

I'd be interested from long term supporters as to why!

Basically Gee was Mill's poodle. The pair ran Tamworth. If I recall correctly Gee was married to Mill's sister. Nepotism or what.

Times were good back then and his side played some great stuff.... Cooper was the difference on the field though and Hallam was quality.

But its a long time ago.... 10 years have past and times have changed, football has changed.

Best appointment I would say was Mills first time around... He brought new life into the club, a more professional approach.... When Law was appointed the same. A press conference was held and everything was more professional.....

Now its meet the manager in the clubhouse!
It's Sunday pub stuff again

The club is a laughing stock throughout the town
not enough class, no new ideas, not enough ambition Angry

Please chairman  Bob, lets not panic here into appointing a manager namely Mr Gee who has not
added nothing of late to his c.v. take over as manager of our team. This is not a knee-jerk comment
but I would rather we sat tight and looked elsewhere for a more suitable candidate. We would I think
fair better under Mr Purdie & co until the right candidate is found.

You denegrate a hugely succesful partnership that produced some of Tamworths greatest footballing teams.
I suppose Smithy had his own "poodle" (Lionel Martin) when the vase was won.
You really should show some respect.

I do respect Gary Mills for all he did. Darren Gee on his own, would be a different kettle. Yes. I am the pot.

So according to this, Gee has applied but is not in line?  Despite mentioning Murray and Johnson we are to expect a 'shock' appointment?

It's building up now, can't wait to find out who it is! I actually think they may surprise people this time and not go for the predictable option that we have largely had over time.
Conference experience  would rule out Johnson.

Taking Bob Andrews at his word, this would clearly rule out my prediction, Darren Byfield, he wouldnt excite any of us.
