How many teams involved and we’ve got Nuneaton. Really glad the draw gave us a home tie. The phenomenon that gifts ex-players rights in scoring against their old teams bloody worrying as they have so many ex and non performing TFC players - that might give us a chance - In hindsight it will be the best draw ever if we win it but if we lose it with my positive vibe this season starting to build a bunker in my garden got to be good for both teams in terms of cash - a gate guessing around 1200 which l would imagine benefit both - Scum will be able to last not one but two weeks after Xmas and we can afford a new manager to assist S&A in the dug out - not replacing Baillie but adding to the collective - god don’t you love Socialism And remember folks a win against Nuneaton and that equals our best ever cup run since 2015 - God bless DG

1-1 and a midweek trip over there I fancy.

Also, as a trade unionist all my working life, you'll not find many socialists in favour of appointing more and more managers Argus! ;-)

None of us on here can say there not salivating about our next match! Let’s put our absolute sh*t cup record to bed for so many years stating Saturday

Any reason why it's more expensive in the cup next weekend? Bit of a pisstake asking for £6 from 16-year-olds. From Boro's site:

Terrace Ticket Prices:
Adults - £14
Concessions - £10
16/17 - £6
Children - £4
0-4 Years - £0

Those are the usual seat prices I think.

If so, you can expect £16 for an adult seat for the game. Seems a bit steep. I was expecting usual league game prices to be honest.

Having had a season ticket so many years, it always feels odd paying in at the Lamb. A bit of me even thought they might go a tenner a ticket if Nuneaton agreed and go for a bumper gate.

As a comparison, Everton have gone £15 (£5 concessions) for Carabao cup home games in recent seasons and I know blues, wolves, Albion, vile all discount for those games too which makes us look a touch on the expensive side.

Won't the coppers be busy doing the important stuff, like lurking behind bushes with speed cameras and fitting people up in courtrooms throughout the land?. Don't know how much we have to pay them, but it's too damn much.

I'm going for 3-0, I really fancy us, Nuneaton have been poor so far, I know we ain't been brilliant, but I would say on the whole, have played better teams up to now.

We have played 5 of the bottom 6, lost against Bromsgrove, drew against St Ives and played poorly and were lucky to beat Leiston. The only team above the bottom 6 that we have played are Hendnesford, who beat us at home. Not sure that I share your optimism Skippo, I think this will be a really difficult game.

Time will tell mate, I agree, but Nuneatons squad should be walking this league, and they don't look anywhere near that, I also think Peterborough Sports position doesn't reflect how decent they will be this season, so that game was definitely a very good result.

20 games ago we were struggling against the bottom teams frequently getting beat. Has to be a positive we’re actually beating the bottom teams under S&A 🤔

It undoubtedly is a positive beating anyone but I think it's fair of IOM to point out that we have basically played largely struggling sides. Bromsgrove will finish much higher than the bottom 6 but I think most of the rest are where they are.

After 6 games a couple of wins turns you from a struggling side to one in contention . Miles to early to judge who are poor and who are good for either relegation battle or promotion push - for evidence look at past seasons. Come on folks let’s give our guys a chance 🤔

I don't think anyone is not giving us a chance at all but I think IOM makes a pertinent point. If Hitchin, Leiston or St Ives end up in the top half I'll be amazed.

We've started ok, Nuneaton started poorly but are just finding a bit of form which for me makes it a fixture where all three results are extremely possible. I'll stick with 1-1 and be delighted if I have to eat my words because we have hammered them.

I know it's extraordinarily early days and you certainly won't find me heading up a "manager out" campaign in the first week of September after giving him/them an entire pre season to build a squad and leaving little to no wriggle room for any incoming replacement. That would be insane ;-)

Roll on Saturday.

[QUOTE=Pricey2]

I know it's extraordinarily early days

My point exactly - look at Bromsgrove and your previous comments about them being high flyers - Are they a another Kings Lynn who got promoted after losing so many games early on 🤔 EARLY DAYS to pigeon hole any team for me 🤔

Can’t seem it being a damp squid tomorrow. With so many ex-players on both sides can’t see the game lasting without a sending off. Not looked forward to a game as much since Everton away

Bromsgrove's game in hand makes a difference. Win that and they jump about half a dozen places.
I'll stand by my comments on Hitchin, Leiston, St Ives - they'll all finish in the bottom half, probably battling relegation.

This is not me saying we're sh*t or calling for anyone's head but we have had a very favourable early run of fixtures. IOM was right to point it out.

Tomorrow is a huge game. Win it and I think you'd argue we've had a good start. Get knocked out and you probably wouldn't. I think it will also be s big boost or knock to the club financially and confidence wise to have a good/bad cup campaign.

Massive game for momentum and us going forward. Who can question 4 out of 5 wins if we can do it tomorrow. If we don’t it will knock momentum and so importantly the extra cash each and every cup win gives us. So we agree Pricey. Don’t want however to do negatively so early in this season and don’t really understand it after AM,MF, and the Benefit Fraud Proven. We’re doing ok but obviously could do a bit better.

Date Posted: 06 Sep 2019 at 10:49pm
I'm not being negative Argus. We may well win tomorrow. I hope we do but I think there is good reason to think the game is a tough one to call because we aren't brilliant (certainly not yet).

I will not be wanting anyone sacked even if we get a shoeing tomorrow though. To be honest, the brain dead sacking of AM caused this all to start. It was exacerbated by the brain-dead timing (52 weeks tomorrow) of sacking MF. Having allowed him a pre season and a budget to build a squad, to sack him at the start of September was lunacy. It handed whoever followed him a poison chalice. DG's results were not good enough by a long chalk but with no spare budget and a colossal injury crisis, no one was going to thrive and I'd still argue Magunda, Gough, Smith and Johnson were four strong signings.

So, in short, I don't think we are the finished article for a promotion winning side yet but our best chance of that happening is for some stability and for the management team that assembled the squad to be given the time to push it forward.

(I'm still going for 1-1 and a midweek trip to Nuneaton) :-)

On a different note I see from the official site it is normal match day prices and not, as the Nuneaton website had it, £2 more which is good.

...and grow up Andy D - you are a tit at times! Win with a bit of class

Brilliant up front in the first half with them being completely sh*t at the back. Couldn’t handle our pace and trickery and we won the match there and then. Happy happy days indeed. Moving forward worried about our defence from corners- they had most of their chances from them. We have to win more first balls in there from them. However have to disagree - love Andrew’s theatricals. Pantomime farce at its best. Brings a smile to my face. Pay admission and you want entertainment and we had it on and off the pitch in buckets. Spent weeks looking forward to this game and it didn’t disappoint

Really happy with the result and performance today, but I'm getting a bit peed off with the antics from our management during some games. As Pricey says, win with a bit of class ffs, rather than behaving like spoilt, arrogant 12 year olds.

Got to agree with Argus. For once we have a management team who show some, rephrase that, great enthusiasm, encouragement and passion which we have also been missing. Still not happy about Waite. Does a lot of running but never seems to have the final killing instinct. But at least he outshone waste of space Verma. Now he wasn’t worth him being on the pitch. Hasn’t changed much there.

Don't think it's fair to talk about the behaviour of our management team as a whole. Smudge is undeniably passionate and loves the club but manages not to behave like an annoying little prick.

Three up at home in a cup tie, giving it the big un to your rivals' bench is embarrassing. It is exacerbated by completely sh*tting yourself and attempting profuse apologies and hiding. Baillie and Smudge both looked embarrassed by him today.
People who spend more time around the club than me and whose opinion I trust, tell me he is a really good coach and I take that at face value and give him credit for that but I wish he'd stop being a knobhead.

If Col is reading the thread, he'll understand what I mean by labelling this "kopite behaviour".

Come on pricey you don’t think it’s fair to talk about our management team as a whole then make comments about two of them is a little hypocritical I think.

Yeah, my point about it is only one of our management team behaved like a prick yesterday. Talking about them collectively isn't fair as the other two didn't.

That's the point I was making Bof.

Sometimes you have to take individuals as a whole - both good and bad traits. Always a risk when trying to drastically change someone’s bad traits it could risk effectiveness of their good ones. Who knows? As said find it fun from a distance but accept for others it can be bloody annoying. For me though don’t want to risk what we’ve currently got in terms of Andrew’s shall we say Management style

It's a risk worth taking. The ref should've sent him off yesterday and if he can't adjust to the request to not be a complete bellend towards opponents then he's going to do as much damage as he does good. The game requires you to have relationships and if your reputation spreads as his inevitably will unless he changes course, we won't be getting any favours off anyone.

My hope is Smudge will have properly put him in his place after yesterday. Smudge went from ecstatic to looking thoroughly let down and embarrassed after the stupidity following our third.

It was however a cracking result. Magunda makes a huge difference at the back, Kaziboni gives us the drive to get forward with pace and in time, Forde will give us a bit more bite in that midfield I think. Scoring three without Creaney also has to be a plus. I feared when he was missing from the teamsheet that we might be a bit toothless but scored three and it could have been four or five with a bit of composure.

The improvement from the Hednesford game was brilliant and I think the returning injured were a big part of that.

Next round? Chasetown would be nearly as convenient as Hednesford for me. Bit further but probably walkable in under an hour.

Can’t change a persons DNA folks. Do you not think polite words have been said behind the scenes after Andrews previous incidents? We’ve got what we’ve got so live with it. Short memories out there - MF - absolute gent DG - absolute fraud. We have what we have and have a great chance of going up with Andrew and his contribution unlike MF and DG who to be fair attempted to get us relegated. Happy compromise with all you worried about Andrews behaviour- let’s have us going out on the pitch with looney tunes on as opposed to ELP Fanfare for the Common Man. Maybe that will keep you happy on here. For me we’re going up under these guys so let’s all get behind them 100% after all don’t we all have blemishes

You reap what you sow. Always remember Dale in goal for Sutton in one of the cups many years ago. We lost and at the final whistle he ran straight of the pitch and into their press box and shouted down the tannoy at the tamworth fans. Not condoning Andys behaviour but Dale used to be the same.

I do know that Pricey means by " kopite behaviour".The last game I was at I did notice one of the people in the home dugout was very animated and encrouching on the pitch every now and again in an over enthusiastic way.  I am sure he was only trying to show how much he cares but as Pricey says"giving it the big un to the opposition bench when you are 3-0 up shows a distinct lack of class.
Talking of lack of class maybe it should be called Klopite behavious :)

We had scored a great third goal, we all celebrated but your rights Andrew needs to control his enthusiasm as otherwise he will be paying the FA quite a bit of money, in fines
