If a managerial change happens and I doubt it will this summer.... surely someone needs to come in (someone different from the outside) and breath a new lease of life into this club...

People are talking about Gee, it was 10 years ago!!

Did you not enjoy that season? I did, it was brilliant. All rounded off with the celebrations in Cambridge and a day out at Villa Park (okay, so other circumstances spoilt that a bit, but it was still a decent afternoon out for me).

Quote If you really think Tamworth would have a chance with Gee, remember the cloud he departed under.

Gee was forced to apologise for his comments in the newspaper and in the Tamworth programme. He implied he would walk out if another suitable post became available.

The rumour was that Andrews and Gee didn't see eye to eye.

Someone would need to eat a lot of humble pie.

Maybe I'm remembering it differently from you then. I do recall Gee getting very upset about some abuse he was getting from the crowd, which I suppose prompted the comments about walking out. But then I seem to recall that it was Andrews that persuaded him to stay so I don't see where the stories of them not getting on come from.
Of course I don't live in Tamuff and probably didn't get the full story so I am happy to be corrected, but not with "rumours".

Steve Burr told me at the Aldershot game that he would have come to Tamworth when he left Kiddy but no approach was made so I doubt he will come now. With the players we have got, I reckon he would have kept us up. Yet another missed opportunity by our board !!

Not sure but I would have a good bet that on Burr's CV it doe's mot mention practicing magician - with Countney out - what you don't do is fall out with your only class defender, and as a result with Thomas gone not even Burr could have saved us with a back four including Keene. Ben Everton Richards and Evans  - got to be the worst defence we have had in the top league by far. Perhaps had we Seven in goal in might have saved the day !! (Joke there guys!)

Took them from relegation certainties to having a real chance of avaoiding the drop including a win at Cambridge (IIRC).

He has also had a lot of success at Kidderminster over the years.

Would this be the Steve Burr that won the Northern Premier League in 2003/4 with Hucknall and then when with Northwich overturned a 10 point deduction to steer them to safety in The Conference only to get relegated due to off field problems. He took over at Chester in Jan 2014 and in that time their league record till the end of the season was, played 21 Won 8 drew 5 and lost 8 making 29 points out of a possible 63 as opposed to in the same period our record of played 22 won 4 drew 3 and lost 15 making 15 pts out of a possible 66! Yep, crap manager Steve Burr. Can we have some of his crap please!!
