Just read on the Tamworth fans facebook page that The Southern League have announced
they plan to restart on Dec 12th, however teams can play scheduled games on the 5th
and the 8th if they wish?

Still doubt I will be able to see a game before the new year but fingers crossed and at least
it is a bit of good news in a mad world.

My slight concern is the league getting some govt funding (that in itself is good) which possibly opens the door to some behind closed doors games which is the worst of all solutions and which they have totally ruled out previously.

From what I can see fans are being allowed back and up to 50% of capacity, I think prem grounds are limited to 4000, but we will just have to wait and see how things go.
I  am sure bumbling Boris will come up with some more impractical   ideas to mess things up.

I can almost guarantee Merseyside will be in the top tier so highly unlikely even if fans are allowed
to attend I will be able to travel :(

Tier 3 I'm afraid. No fans. This will cause chaos in our league. Some clubs in tier 2 can play with fans in attendance but the others not allowing fans in. The southern league has stated that clubs can not afford to put matches on without a crowd. Wonder if this season will be abandoned again.

I feared that the extension of the govt package of funding to steps 3-6 was possibly a harbinger of some fixtures behind closed doors (the worst of all solutions for me) and we could be headed that way.

You can't have a situation where half the league can play and half can't. That would make a mockery of the competition so my educated guess (and it is just a guess) is we will see a mixture of restricted attendances and behind closed doors with grants for the foreseeable and I can't be arsed with streaming or any of that nonsense either.
