I also think people forget how hard that level was. The last year he was there you had Salford and Harrogate flinging money at that league, massive clubs like York and Stockport in it, the previous year Fylde had cruised it.

Expecting to get in the play offs on the budget we had was always way too optimistic and if we were to get promoted, we wouldn't be even challenging for the play offs without a total revamp of the squad.

Genuinely hope he does well at Hednesford as many have said, he's a genuinely nice bloke too.

He may have to wait a year for his first match if the current thinking on social distancing comes true.

You might be right there. It certainly doesn't look like being soon does it?

There looks a perfect storm coming where we all end up back at work and doing the bits of life that are mundane without being able to go football/cinema/comedy/gigs/meal out/going on holiday that we all enjoy.

Will be worse for mental health than the lockdown if that comes to pass.

Squad building will be a nightmare if there's a prospect that next season might not take place. If there's a years break all the part-time players will be overweight and unfit. Also a number of clubs won't exist.

It's @ bit on the other thread this but I had a muse about the national League deliberations on there.

I'm not sure non league football can work before social distancing ends is my sad conclusion.

Reece Styche the most disloyal footballer on the planet, left us for a better offer only to end up at Bromsgrove. Styche is a one man band, not the sort of player usually tolerated at the Lamb. Durrell was a very useful player yet his individualism was despised by some. Pleased to see AM let him go as his ego would not have benefitted the club long term. As for signing a replacement, timing is everything and Styche’s transfer demand was not timed to benefit Tamworth.
With hindsight the decision to axe AM put a stop to the progress made up to that point. Gambling on a player with Styches history was always going to rebound
