It seems that the decision on making the season null and void has been ratified by The FA Council.
Wonder if any clubs will set up a legal challenge?

I'd hope we wouldn't be daft enough. It was suggested, we grouped together with clubs to send a legal letter, it was voted on and ratified.

As there is no official catastrophe policy (i.e. what happens when the league can't finish as opposed to the fairly well established practice of expunging results when one team drops out e.g. Chester a few years back) in any league's rules, you wouldn't legally be challenging a rule breach (relatively easy to prove/disprove) where they hadn't implemented their own rules correctly so I don't know on what basis you'd legally challenge it on.

They've not done anything criminal so I can't see on what basis any court could find against the league and then what recompense clubs would be given.

A firm of solicitors had already been instructed to act on behalf of clubs before the FA’s ratified their decision. You can read it here

Yes I know and the league subsequent to receiving the letter, convened a meeting and ratified it.

I truly feel sympathy for all involved in this but lobbing money (and time) at solicitors when all clubs will take a financial hit from the virus anyway, seems madness, especially as I can't see any way a league is going to be found to have breached it's own non-existent rules.

Lawyers, Bankers, Estate Agents all profit from other people’s misfortune. Covid and it’s problems will be around until an effective vaccine has been administered to 60% of the world population. The last pandemic had a second and third wave, with increasing mortality. Football proper may not be back until 2022, unless governments are prepared to gamble with lives.
I think the clubs have to take it on the chin and start again, without lining the pockets of the Lawyers.

Christ on a bike I hope it's not 2022. My Mrs has a never ending list of jobs and I need a Saturday skive!

Me too, no one in government is prepared to look beyond next week because the reality may be too depressing. Spanish flu killed 50 million, in successive waves of infection.
Things obviously have moved on, yet human behaviour and immunity haven’t changed that much.
A good time to take up music or art.
