Really enjoyed my visit on Sat and nice to see Tamworth dominate the game from start to finish, although I agree that the longer it stayed at 1-0 you could see St Ives having one chance and taking it but luckily it all ended well. I also agree that the antics of the manager are embarrassing and what is the point, the ref is never going to change his mind cos you go ballastic at him. Not a great example to the players or any young kids watching him either. COYL

The referee's are officiating at this level for a reason. The fact is we have never been awarded so many penalties in a season. Next Saturday provides a big test for the best defence in the league playing against the strongest forward line in the league, but on the back of two clean sheets it is set up to be cracking contest. We do need to be more ruthless in front of goal but the position we are in how can anyone complain. (apart from we shouldn't have ended up in this league in the first place). COYL

I personally wish Andy would tone down the ref baiting. I think the ref got one wrong over the second Hoenes pen shout yesterday but when Andy was still screaming at him like a 2 year old having a tantrum a couple of minutes later, I thought it was unlikely to make the ref change his mind and also made it difficult for management to discipline any of our players who get booked for dissent in future”. Couldn’t agree more Pricey. He was an embarrassment yesterday and does nothing to endear us to the referee for future decisions in the game. He sets a bad example for any children watching and to the players. I would respect him more if he accepted decisions given against us without the high drama. That said, it was a good game enjoyed more when we eventually went 2-0 up.

As for general negativity, I'm with Dan, I've not seen it. Personally, I thought we were poor v Needham Market and that the management were naive about defending balls into the box v Nuneaton which led to us throwing two points away.
I'd stand by those opinions and the general feeling round me in the ground was very sinilar but given we'd won 7 league games in a row prior to that, no one was starting a Smudge out campaign. I personally wish Andy would tone down the ref baiting. I think the ref got one wrong over the second Hoenes pen shout yesterday but when Andy was still screaming at him like a 2 year old having a tantrum a couple of minutes later, I thought it was unlikely to make the ref change his mind and also made it difficult for management to discipline any of our players who get booked for dissent in future. Minor gripes though in a run of 9 wins from 11 for which everyone is giving players credit quite rightly and if you can't raise a minor gripe here, what is the point of a forum? Surely you don't want this site turned into some sort of SS policed state where dissent is forbidden do you Argus? Your catchphrase used to be "other opinions welcome" until you decided you didn't want to hear from anyone who disagreed with you |

Certainly played well today, knocked it about nicely and completely controlled the game. I will admit I was concerned that we got to 70mins at only one nil as we've all seen that film before but in the end, Laity made a difference again and Rhys took his goal very well too.
One of those games where it was tough to pick a man of the match because everyone had a decent 7/10 but I agreed with the sponsors on the basis Henri has let no one down while he's been filling in in various positions over a good while now and Christ, how much does that lad love a tackle! Only thing I'd disagree with Argus is us having nothing to lose and Bromsgrove the other way round. As the team 2pts behind having played 3 games more, the pressure isn't on them, they don't control their own destiny anyway so they are the ones with a bit of a free hit in my opinion which makes it a dangerous game. Atmosphere should be good as they get the biggest gates in the league and there should be a four figure turnout for that. Will be a real test for the defence as they score bucketloads, however we should be more than capable of breaking down that defence so it should be entertaining either way (I've probably talked it into being 0-0 now but I doubt it). I felt we should have scored more today, but would agree St Ives parked the bus a bit, I have to say I didn’t think we would beat Banbury and Hednesford, so what’s to say we can’t beat Bromsgrove and Peterborough away, but they will be our toughest tests one after the other, but if you compare this to the sh*t Dennis Greene was serving up last season, we should should be more than happy 👍

Agree Hallam. If anyone had to do a film on how to breakdown a team with the obvious intent of defending everyone behind the ball even when a goal down it was today. Never once fell into the trap of long ball for sake of it, all about holding ball and giving when ready and options open. Never got out of top gear and without officials negating responsibility could have run out 5 or 6 goal winners. Let’s save the monumental effort for next week-end. We have nothing to lose, they do. Bring it on

Thought we played really well today Argus
Should have been 4 up by half time! The bench is as strong as we have had it in some time and the fact Lait can change a game makes us a constant goal threat Onto Bromsgrove....! |

Example; Top of the League, coasting, playing attractive football, an away record to die for Dan. Help me here, not one pre-comment or post comment on today’s match. Not sure it’s apathy, boredom, or negativity mate, you choose
