Chris has been offered a contract for next season. He’s thinking about it.

It's definitely a good move from the club to offer early. He'd be one you'd want to keep and he isn't one we could leave hanging until late July and expect no one to have signed him up.
The bad news is time flies. The good news is we are the pilots

I would be slightly concerned that in one sentence it says he wants to stay and be part of next seasons promotion push and then in the other, a contract has been offered and he will have a few weeks to rest and then make a decision, the two don't go together for me, I have seen this so many more times at Tamworth, and I’m still very concerned that there isn’t a mention of anyone else with either a contract on the table or any that have signed, but we want to keep the bulk of last seasons squad and add 3 more, we are a bit slow off the mark in my view.

I’m fairness to the guy he will have clubs after him
He wouldn’t just accept the first offer
He is the best player we have, so, as always wont be easy just to sign him up for next season

Don’t get many Andy Burns’s these days - one if not the first to sign on willing to accept offer on table. Tamworth would have made a good offer to CL and l am sure they know his worth to the TFC cause next season. Like any player nowadays he will want to see if there are other approaches made in the mean time - all is not lost if that’s the case because if you believe his comments that he wants to be part of the TFC set up he will just use the counter offer as a bargaining tool - we will have one of the best Player Budgets in this league once again and with the loss (I assume) of Verma with losing Asante we have the money to keep CL if we really want to and providing the lad is not to greedy- after all it looks like he has a good job outside football
