A petition has been lodged with the High Court by HMRC to wind up Boro Leisure Ltd,( Nuneaton Boro FC). The hearing is set for 27th March. Not sure what the debt owed is, but a quick read of their forum seems to suggest a figure of £31,000.Some things never change. Two things occur to me about this, firstly, despite being our bitter rivals I take no pleasure from their plight. It's the multi billion pound faceless, corporate, sterile side if football that I wish to go out of existence, the likes of Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd etc. Clubs like Nuneaton are the part of football that are for real people, real communities, and it's a sad day when clubs like this are at risk. Secondly, Bob Andrews may well have faults, and may have made some poor decisions, but we aren't half lucky to have someone in charge that makes sure the club is at least financially stable, something to think about when the critics start.

Terrible news. When you think back to what they had and could have achieved. I hope that someone is able to come in to save them.

Our aren’t we in considerable debt to Mr Andrews? If he recalled it I suspect we would be in a similar situation.
It may only be through his continued financial support that we are still going.

Glad people have finally realised what our club means to Bob Andrews and without him we would be worse off than our Arch Rivals.

Spot on IOM.Have had a few pops at Bob Andrews in the past, mainly because of the fact that he has in the recent past rewarded failure with new contracts. Also he doesnt seem to have great PR with the fans at times. That said he has spent well over 30 years either as a director or chairman and has overseen some great times for the club, for which i,and am sure many others will be forever grateful. I would hate to see us become victim to the same plight as Nuneaton Boro, and much as i dislike them from a rival perspective, i would not wish to see them go to the wall. Dont really know where we would be without Mr Andrews input over the years, but would hazard a guess,in a lower league than we are now. However what does concern me is the fact that he wont be able to go on forever, and we must ensure that when the time does come for him to step down that there is someone able to step in and have the same financial input as he has had.

I don't want to see any club go to the wall but at some point, Nuneaton have to stop spending way above what they have. Hope they get sorted but this is a bit groundhog Day!
The bad news is time flies. The good news is we are the pilots

Any club with attendances Nuneaton get and have the financial competence of a Wall Street hustler remaining full time status beggars belief - asking for trouble I’m afraid! You need business skills to Manager a football club not football dreams. Amazing how even those with a business background come into clubs and lose the financial plot. Of course in Nuneatons case not owning their ground will always have serious financial consequences- oh hum!
